1976 Gibson S-1 in black finish – a distinctive and relatively uncommon Gibson from the Norlin era. The S-1 stands apart from Gibson’s more traditional models, featuring three Bill Lawrence-designed single-coil pickups and an unusual 4-position switching system offering several pickup combinations, including humbucking and out-of-phase sounds. The result is a remarkably versatile instrument capable of delivering everything from fuller Gibson-style tones to brighter, more articulate single-coil sounds.
